A rare French Verre Eglomisé mirror, depicting a Heraldic Lion with detailed copper and gilt foliate and floral design.
The mirror itself is naturally foxed and from either side looks very smoked. (Photos have not been edited so what it shows is how it is )
When facing the mirror from the front it's a normal reflection (additional photos can be sent,)
With original, fine velvet backing.
Ready to hang via 4 pre-drilled holes
verre églomisé, (French: “Glomyized glass”), glass engraved on the back that has been covered by unfired painting or, usually, gold or silver leaf.
This item was found in a basement of a large Belgian house and has never been available for sale until now.
